APACHELAND BURNS, FEBRUARY 14TH, 2004

Firefighters from all over the valley responded to the calls that the legendary town was ablaze. Local cowboy Ken Hovis and his best friend Ebony, braved the flames on that fateful night. The Apache Junction firefighters captured the two on video coming out of the fire. Silhouettes on the bottom of the print are of firefighters periling their lives to save the town. One of the firefighters was a woman. The town was unsalvageable, but the soul of the town will live on forever in the hearts of those that lived and breathed its existence. Artist, Anne Coe, with her gift of paint was able to put to canvas what the video put to the camera. We thank her for her talent and insight into the two beloved friends that took that ride out of the fire, February 14th 2004.
